After months of shifting in its top leadership ranks, the Liberty Elementary School District governing board is working to determine who should oversee the district’s day-to-day operations as it prepares to vote on launching a search for a permanent superintendent.
Recently, board members discussed whether to immediately name an acting or interim superintendent following the dismissal of Interim Superintendent Trevor McDonald. Board President Sarah Schmidt said the district currently lacks a formally designated leader.
“When (the former superintendent) was removed, we immediately named an interim superintendent,” Schmidt said. “That process was not done this time… and the district needs someone identified in that role.”
