Discussing efforts to curb infestations of buffelgrass — a nonnative, invasive species harmful to native plants — on Phoenix preserves, one Phoenix committee member proposed fighting fire with fire. She suggested to plant brittlebush, which is native to Arizona and has been known to present growth problems for buffelgrass.
