The Glendale Police Department confirmed two people died following a two-vehicle crash on 47th and Northern avenues near Apollo High School in Glendale.
Authorities said at approximately 4:10 a.m. officers responded to a call for two vehicles that collided at the intersection of 4700 W. Northern Ave.
Upon arrival, officers discovered one vehicle was occupied by two adults, a male and a female, who were transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. They were later pronounced deceased.
The other vehicle had one occupant who was transported with minor injuries.
Authorities said the first vehicle came to rest on the property of Apollo High School after going through the school fence.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
The identities of the victims have not been released at this time.
The high school was not open at the time and no students were hurt.
The road was initially closed for authorities to respond to the scene and to allow an investigation. Glendale police are now saying that Northern between 43rd and 51st avenues has since reopened.
