Two students from Chandler schools will be among the representatives of Arizona when the next Scripps National Spelling Bee is held in May.
Esha Marupudi, a seventh-grader from BASIS Chandler, emerged from the March 15 state-level Arizona Spelling Bee 2025 champion. Sumukh Tirumalasetty, a fourth-grader from New Vistas Center for Education, a private school in Chandler, also qualified for nationals by placing second at state.
The third-place finisher, a J.O. Combs School District sixth-grader, will also compete in Washington, D.C. at the national bee.
