TSMC plans to begin production ahead of schedule

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. announced it expects it to begin volume production in the beginning of 2025.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. announced it expects it to begin volume production in the beginning of 2025.

The announcement came as part of TSMC’s third quarter earnings report where Dr. CC Wei, the company’s CEO, said production trials have been “highly satisfactory” with a “very good” yield, a press release stated.

Having a higher yield means there is a higher percentage of wafers without defects, a TSMC spokeswoman said.
