Arizona State University is launching a new semiconductor training program with support from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Arizona to fill more than 100 technician position over the next year.
The free training program is being funded by TSMC Arizona and by grants received from the federal government.
“Establishing relationships and programs with the greater Phoenix and state’s higher education network allows us to cast a wide net across a statewide talent pool,” A TSMC Arizona spokesperson said. “We already have strong ties to ASU Fulton Schools of Engineering to support our growing need for engineers. For this equipment technician curriculum, ASU offers applicable hands-on learning environments, which are relevant for this specific technician role.”
