TSMC Arizona making strides

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.’s Arizona facility is reportedly coming along without a hitch.

Earlier this month, TSMC announced the company has 500 Arizona employees currently training in Taiwan and about 100 employees working locally. TSMC is developing on more than 1,100 acres near Interstate 17 and Loop 303 in far northern Phoenix. The site is part of a 3,500-acre technology park just up the road for Phoenix Deer Valley Airport, itself a hub for manufacturing that could see big gains as a result of the new plant.

By 2023, the company expects to have more than 2,000 employees working at TSMC Arizona. The project remains on schedule to start operations in 2024, according to a company statement.
