It’s hot out there, Valley residents, and it’s working your air conditioning unit overtime.
This month, Valley temperatures reached at least 110 degrees for the 19th consecutive day — breaking a record last set nearly 50 years ago on June 29, 1974.
All that heat, including nighttime temperatures that are only going into the 90s, mean air conditioning units have to work a lot harder, which can translate to a significantly higher monthly bills, said Dave Veatch, operations manager at Forrest Anderson Plumbing and Air Conditioning in Glendale.
