Truck, motorcycle collision kills Peoria man

A 44-year-old Peoria man died following a Friday night crash between the motorcycle he was operating and a pickup truck, police said.

The collision occurred about 8 p.m. Nov. 3 on 99th Avenue just north of Northern Avenue.

The preliminary investigation shows the driver of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was turning left into the Park West shopping mall from 99th Avenue, and the 2004 Victory motorcycle was heading north on 99th Avenue when the Silverado turned in front of the motorcycle causing the collision, according to a release.

The motorcycle rider, Aaron Allen, was taken to a hospital where he later died.

The truck driver was not injured and remained at the scene throughout the investigation. Police said there is no indication the Silverado driver was impaired, adding “this appears to be a tragic accident, no arrests have been made, and no citations have been issued.”

The intersection was closed until about 11:30 p.m. Friday.
