Truck hits, kills pedestrian Sunday on Cactus Road

(Metro Creative Connection)

A man died Sunday morning after he was hit by a truck while crossing outside of a crosswalk in the 2200 block of West Cactus Road.

The collision occurred about 3:25 a.m. Jan. 18. The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital where he died.

Preliminary information indicates the man attempted to cross the road mid-block and was not in a crosswalk when he was struck. The truck driver showed no signs of impairment, and speeding is not believed to be a factor, police said.
