Philip A. Tremonti has resigned as board president of the Superstition Community Food Bank, a position he held for the past year.

Mr. Tremonti, along with Executive Director Myra Garcia, led the local food bank through the start of the pandemic, ensuring food delivery to hungry people in need, according to a release.

While other food banks were forced to close or reduce services, Superstition Community Food Bank continued its full-service operation, the release states.

Recently, Mr. Tremonti spearheaded a groundbreaking at the food bank to create additional building space to accommodate much-needed refrigeration units and the anticipated growth in community need for food bank services.

The board of directors will be continuing with this effort. It will be electing a new president in the near future, the release states.
