Traveling with the R.H. Johnson Digital Library

Posted

As people increasingly read and listen to books on their smartphone or tablet, they’re discovering one of the best resources is their library.

Libraries give free access to ebooks and audiobooks. Sun City West residents can access a wide selection of popular digital ebooks, audiobooks and digital magazines free from the R. H. Johnson Library.

The summer months is a good time to catch up on your reading list. The R. H. Johnson library has a collection of more 15,000 ebooks, audiobooks and digital magazines that can be accessed from anywhere. One benefit of using digital resources while traveling is that they will return automatically and will never have late fees. Listen to audiobooks in your car by syncing your phone to your radio. Have your ebooks on your tablet or send them to your Kindle to read.

This Summer you can also use the Libby app to gain access to a new variety of content that entertains, educates and provides unique digital experiences in addition to the library’s ebooks and audiobooks.

We have added more than 1,400 in-depth videos from Craftsy that cover more than 20 different creative areas. The Libby app gives access to more than 500 Universal online classes, 250 Great Courses videos that you can study and a collection of independent films and performances that can be streamed. These new streaming options are checked out in Libby for one week and can be renewed every seven days.

Want to try a new recipe this summer? Check out one of our digital magazines. We have more than 400 in our food and wine magazine section alone!

To start enjoying new streaming media, digital books, digital magazines and more, download Libby from your app store. Use your rec card number and the default PIN, which is the last four digits of your phone number, to access all of the digital content.

We hope you have fun and safe travels.
