A 28-year-old man was lying on railroad tracks Saturday near 3200 North West Grand Avenue when he was run over by a train, police said Sunday.

Police were called to the scene about 7:30 a.m. and found Joevon Pringle who was pronounced dead by Phoenix Fire Department personnel.

Detectives took over the investigation and learned that Pringle was lying on the tracks when the train struck him. The investigation continues.
