QUEEN CREEK - Tom Murch Lt. Col. USAF Ret. went to be with the Lord November 11, 2013 after being a cancer survivor for 14 years. Tom was a pilot in the U.S.A.F. from 1953-1973. He flew several aircraft including the F-100, F-105 and F-111. He served on the first Queen Creek Town Council for eight years and two years as Vice-Mayor. Considered by many to be the "John Wayne" of Queen Creek for his relentless pursuit of the common good. Preceded in death by parents, Lillian Murch (Ainsworth), John Murch; and brother, Ken Murch (Mass.). Survived by wife, Lucy; sisters, Nancy Tetrault (Calif.), Bonnie Hamilton (Mass.); and brother, John Murch (Mass.); children, Jim (Lara), Eric (Mayra), and Mary (Nathan); numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Visitation was held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Falconers Funeral Home, 251 W Juniper Ave, Gilbert Ariz. Church services was held 10 a.m., Monday, November 18, 2013 at Sun Lakes Community Church, 9240 E Sun Lakes Blvd. Sun Lakes, Ariz. Burial followed at 1:30 p.m. in National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. Phoenix, Ariz.
