Tolleson Union High School District names new superintendent

Tolleson Union High School has named Jeremy Calles, the district’s former chief financial officer, as the new superintendent.

Calles has worked for the district for the past six years as financial officer. He was originally asked to fill in as interim superintendent after the former superintendent, Nora Gutierrez, announced she planned to retire after the 2022-23 school years ended.

Calles spoke with the Daily Independent about his plans moving forward.
