Detectives are investigating a shooting that left a toddler seriously injured Tuesday afternoon.
The shooting occurred just before 12:20 p.m. Jan. 6 in the 2900 block of East Wier Avenue. Officers arrived to find the child with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
The toddler was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, police said, adding “the person or people involved left the scene before officers arrived.”

Detectives are investigating a shooting that left a toddler seriously injured Tuesday afternoon.
The shooting occurred just before 12:20 p.m. Jan. 6 in the 2900 block of East Wier Avenue. Officers arrived to find the child with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
The toddler was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, police said, adding “the person or people involved left the scene before officers arrived.”
Early information suggested it was a domestic violence incident, “however as the investigation continues, this may no-longer be the case,” according to a Phoenix Police Department release.
Police are aware of possible videos of the incident, the release stated.
