Tile Liquidators Floor & Design – Scottsdale celebrates its grand opening of a new full-service showroom and design center May 12.

TL Floor & Design offers ceramic, porcelain, glass and natural stone tile and mosaics; natural stone and quartz slab for countertops and other surfaces; and LVP, laminate, hardwood and carpet.

The center is located at 14575 N. Greenway Hayden Loop, suite B1, near the Kierland shopping district.

Tile is today’s material of choice given its sustainability, durability, ease of maintenance and aesthetic appeal, a press release stated.

“We want to highlight the diverse ways to transform your space with our expertly curated collections: Flooring, countertops, walls, backsplashes, showers, feature walls, niches, all your outdoor spaces,” owner and president Joani Woelfel said in the release. “Tile is everywhere. Tile provides versatility and endless possibilities for interior designers, builders and homeowners. From ceramic and porcelain to natural stone, quartz and glass, we feature the latest trends in tile design including all shapes, sizes, bold colors and textured finishes at great price points.”

Woelfel, who grew up in the tile and stone industry, founded the business as part of a larger commitment to advance the use of tile, stone and other surfaces in projects installed by skilled tradespeople, according to the release.

The grand opening features an AIA-approved continuing learning opportunity, “Specification and Installation of Large Format Tile,” which earns professionals one credit toward health, safety and welfare credential requirements.

James Woelfel, president of Artcraft Granite, Marble and Tile Co., principal consultant with J.G. Woelfel & Associates, and chairman of the National Tile Contractors Association Technical Committee will lead the one-hour session, which includes an installation demo.

The NTCA Technical Committee works in partnership with the tile and stone industry to develop specifications for the installation of tile and stone. James and Artcraft have earned industry recognition for expertise in tile and stone installations, the press release stated.

“Tile and stone projects can last decades, even centuries,” Woelfel said. “We help customers understand that the appropriate selection of materials and proper installation are keys to the longevity of their investments.”

Woelfel’s career experience includes working with design and construction professionals to specify tile and stone projects in Arizona, Colorado and the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as sales and management positions for distributors Daltile and Bedrosians, the release stated.

Her daughter, Hannah Spude, joins TL Floor & Design – Scottsdale as the design center manager. Spude’s experience includes helping manage the tile department for a national flooring retailer.

The Scottsdale design center includes a private space set aside for the trade to meet with clients when making selections. Space can be reserved by calling 480-910-4777. Staff is available by appointment outside normal working hours.

  • 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. open for business
  • 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. grand opening open house
  • 4–5 p.m. light snacks and beverages
