The North American touring production of “Tina! – The Tina Turner Musical” is coming to Tempe.
Naomi Rodgers portrays the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member who died in May of this year. The uplifting comeback story celebrates the journey of a woman who broke barriers and became the Queen of Rock and Roll.
One of the world’s best-selling artists of all time, Turner won 12 Grammy Awards.
“Tina! – The Tina Turner Musical” is written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Katori Hall and directed by Phyllida Lloyd.
Shows at ASU Gammage, 1200 S. Forest Ave., start at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10; Wednesday, Oct. 11; Thursday, Oct. 12; Friday, Oct. 13; and Saturday, Oct. 14. Also, there is a 2 p.m. show Saturday, Oct. 14; and 1 and 6:30 p.m. shows on Sunday, Oct. 15.
The show is recommended for ages 14 and up. The production includes scenes depicting domestic violence, racist language, loud music, strobe lighting, haze, and gun shots.
