Sun City Fire District officials want to know their options for merging with other districts.
To that end, they selected Emergency Services Consulting International to do a feasibility study for mergers. The action was taken in a special July 19 meeting. Rob Schmitz, Sun City acting fire chief, will conduct the final negotiations with the company’s representatives and the study is expected to begin shortly thereafter.
The study will include a broad scope of study, not necessarily with any specific entity, according to Tim Wilmes, Sun City Fire District board member.
