Surprise, AZ - Thomas Lysle Broich passed away peacefully at home on April 19, 2018 at the age of 75. Tom was born on July 28, 1942 in Los Angeles, CA, later moving to Minnesota with his family.He retired with honors from the Navy in Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife Doreen in 2010 and is survived by their children, Timothy Broich, Terri Giancola and Thomas David Broich, 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grand children, and 2 brothers and 2 sisters, plus many extended family and friends. Mr. Broich was the owner of ACR, Service, Inc., (Cooling and Heating Repair Company), in Glendale, AZ. Tom, his wife Doreen and their children moved to Arizona in the early 1970's from Illinois, spent several years living in the Glendale and Phoenix area before moving to Surprise in 1988.In 1990, Tom decided to run for office and became a Surprise Councilmember in March 1991 and served through June 1999.He also served as Vice-Mayor his last year in office. He came into office when Surprise was a small Town, and took part in many important decisions as a Councilmember that led Surprise into a large City within a few short years.There will be a memorial service with Honor Guard that will take place on Monday, May 21st, 2018 - 10:00 A.M. at the National Cemetery located at 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona, 85024.
