Thomas Francis Burke

Posted
Thomas Francis Burke "The Colonel"- A man that was born on New Year's Day in 1932 (86 and full of life) of Surprise, AZ, passed away on February 16, 2018 with an unnerving will to fight for his health and dignity. His fighting spirit lasted until his last breath, but his desire to finally be reunited with our Mom, Joyce Burke ("The General"), in heaven was the deciding factor. Our Dad was a very sensitive soul, yet his tough exterior proved him well in the Marine Corps, business, and as a great family-man. He was the life of the party as he has/had so many friendships, near and far, old and young, and from so many different groups he was associated with. The Colonel is survived by his children: Thomas F. Jr. and Ann, Coleen, Timothy, and Shannon; and his grandchildren: Courtney, Thomas F. III, Jimmy, Megan, Gavin, and Jocelyn. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2018 between 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. at the Surprise Funeral Care; 16063 West Bell Road, Surprise, AZ 85374 (623-546-8002). A full service mass will be held on Monday, February 26th at St. Clare's Catholic Church at 17111 West Bell Road, Surprise, AZ 85374 (623-546-3444) starting at 10:30 A.M. We seek comfort in knowing our courageous father is no longer suffering and is beginning his new chapter in heaven with many loved ones, but most significant the love of his life. We will always remember his quick wit and zest for life. Enjoy being reunited with your 'Joy,' but know we already miss you. Semper Fi!
