Sept. 11 - MESA: Explosions in the Sky: 20th Anniversary Tour – Mesa Arts Center. Explosions in The Sky are some of the most sincere folks you will ever meet. Aside from being nice, they play some of the most passionate, powerful instrumental music you’ll ever hear. Equal parts romance and tragedy, their beautiful melodies have the tendency to ignite unto head-spinning walls of noise. Sept. 11 - PHOENIX: Adrian Belew – Crescent Ballroom. A legendary guitarist well-known for his diverse travels around the musical map. A multi-instrumentalist whose moving singing voice and prolific songwriting has endeared a loyal fan base of music lovers. His music is being discovered everyday by more and more listeners thirsty for great music with a creative standard not often pushed by the commercial music industry. $30-45. 7:30 p.m.

Sept. 12 - MESA: Maren Morris: Girl The World Tour – Mesa Amphitheatre. With special guests Hailey Whitters and Kassi Ashton. $48+. 7 p.m.

Sept. 12 - PHOENIX: David Crosby and Friends Sky Trails Tour 2019 – Celebrity Theatre. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and co-founder of the Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash, David Crosby with five musical friends, known as the ‘Skytrails Band’ are: Crosby’s son James Raymond on keys, Mai Agan on bass, Steve DiStanislao on drums, Jeff Pevar on guitar and Michelle Willis on keyboards and vocals. On this tour, Crosby will be performing some of his best loved songs and greatest hits, alongside material from the Sky Trails album, plus a few surprises as well. $40-85. 7:30 p.m.

Sept. 13 - MESA: Mesa Arts Center 2019 Kick-Off - Mesa Arts Center. An evening of entertainment, live music, art studio demonstrations, five new exhibitions, hands-on activities, and delicious foods. Family-friendly and inspired by Flora & Fauna, one of five exhibitions opening in the Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum. Through the exhibitions, live entertainment, art making, demonstrations, delicious food and drink the event invites us all to look closer and celebrate the incredible, fascinating world in which we live. Sept. 13-15 - SCOTTSDALE: Junk in the Trunk – WestWorld of Scottsdale. Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market returns to provide you with the Valley’s original and best shopping experience.  Features the finest vintage and handmade vendors selling all things chippy, rusty, vintage and handmade. The Market, featuring an array of items, will combine one-of-a-kind vintage shopping with live local music and food trucks. $8. Friday 5-9 p.m. Saturday-Sunday 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

Sept. 13-29 - PHOENIX: Blues in the Night – Helen K. Mason Performing Arts Center. The universal language of the blues wails out full and strong in Blues in the Night – a dynamite “dramatic revue” of twenty-six hot and torchy numbers that tell the sweet, passionate and sorrowful experiences of three women and a saloon singer. 602-258-8129 or

Sept. 14 - CHANDLER: 8th Annual Rockin' Taco Street Fest - Crossroads Towncenter. Features creative tacos from a dozen local restaurants and fresh fruit fresca, Mexican cervesa, tequila tasting, margaritas, elote, churros, Mexican candies and palettas. Other highlights include live entertainment, a low-rider car show, taco eating and salsa competitions, Chihuahua races, ballet folklorico dancing, niños play zone. $8-10.

Sept. 14-15 - QUEEN CREEK: 4th Annual Messy Fest – Horseshoe Park & Equestrian Centre. This festival is dedicated to all the messy fun that you want to have but don't want to clean up at your house. It is an event featuring activities and attractions that you have never seen. Sept. 15-Jan. 15 - PHOENIX: Art on the Wild Side – Phoenix Zoo. Artists Jennifer O’Cualain, Linda Budge and Susan Richey-Schmitz showcase their unique vision of wildlife and conservation via photography, paint and mixed media. Through this exhibit, guests can engage in the Zoo’s mission to care for the natural world while being inspired by nature and animals.

Sept. 16 - PHOENIX: Rupaul’s Drag Race World Tour – Orpheum Theatre. The Official Rupaul's Drag Race World Tour returns with an all-new production for 2019! Mission leader Michelle Visage is on a journey to save the universe with the help of her intergalactic queens including Aquaria, Kameron Michaels, Asia O'Hara, Kim Chi, Naomi Smalls, Violet Chachki and the queens from Season 11!
