Man gets 7.5 years for stealing vehicles in Maricopa County

A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to 7.5 years in prison for committing more than a dozen vehicle thefts throughout the Valley.

Jashwa Emanuel Hicks pleaded guilty to seven counts of theft of means of transportation and one count of misconduct involving weapons, according to a Maricopa County Attorney’s Office release.

In May 2025, Phoenix police received a report of a stolen vehicle near 40th Street and Camelback Road. The stolen vehicle had tracking software that allowed police to locate it near McCormick Ranch Golf Club where they arrested Hicks, officials said.
