These residents interested in running for Deer Valley school board

Election Day in 2026 may seem like a long way off, but potential candidates are already lining up for seats opening on the Deer Valley Unified School District governing board, which has terms ending later this year for two board members.

Current board president Paul Carver and current board member Stepanie Simacek will both see their four-year terms expire at the end of 2026.

According to the Maricopa County School Superintendent’s elections and districts data dashboard, two residents have filed Statements of Interest so far to potentially run for the openings. Carver and David Alvarado have filed.
