Therapy dog Beaker helps Phoenix Crime Lab workers deal with stressful job

He might have trouble testing DNA samples, but Phoenix Crime Lab employees still describe him as an important part of the team.

Therapy dog Beaker joined the Phoenix Crime Lab in late 2024. He tagged along earlier this month when crime lab staff presented an overview of their services to the Phoenix Public Safety and Justice Subcommittee.

“He has been a tremendous member to our family in the laboratory. He literally brings a smile to everybody’s face,” said Jody Wolf, Phoenix Police Assistant Director of Technical Services, during the March 4 meeting.
