OPINION — The liberal group-think script professes compassion and self-esteem. However, deeper into their narratives they make the demand that others must subordinate their own self-esteem/values to adopt their ideological preferences. Isn’t government’s function to be fair and assist all people with “their choices,” not ignore them and covertly restrict their options?
Fairness is one of many virtues that contribute to leading a moral life. Fairness requires a sense of understanding born out of mutual respect for all living beings. It’s impossible to be civil without holding moral virtues. Kindness, fairness and respect are being routinely slaughtered inside various forms of media narratives. There has been mild or no consequences for those that twist facts, express a deranged style of hate or just plain lie. The routine violators of truth are often the media mouthpieces of cable TV that unfairly sensationalize narratives for ratings.
If a sports player breaks the rules the consequence of their unfair conduct is disqualification. Repeat offenders get suspended then permanently barred for continuing bad behavior or cheating. Bad behavior has consequences.
