The Thumb gets ‘thumbs up’ for family, pet-friendly environment

Early on a Sunday morning, more than 1,500 people, many with pets, entered and perused the Scottsdale premises of The Thumb, at 9393 E. Bell Road, for shopping indoors and outdoors.

“So far this is great. There are a variety of vendors. We are excited to be here,” said first-time attendee Melissa Bowden, of north Phoenix, who attended with her three daughters, Mariah, Kevonna and Anjanae.

From 8 a.m. to noon, a steady flow of families and individuals attended the Scottsdale outdoor market, which opened for the season Aug. 21.
