The Shop Beer Co. and Pivot Cycles hosting Good Fest to benefit Armer Foundation

On Saturday, May 13, 2023, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., The Shop Beer Co. and Pivot Cycles will team up with local non-profit Armer Foundation for Kids, to host the inaugural Good Fest: a day of good music, good food, good brews and a good cause.

Hosted in honor of the late “Armer Kid” Logan Gidley, the event will feature the release of a limited-edition beer from The Shop Beer Co. with cans featuring a one-of-a-kind design by artist J. Pierce; a raffle of a custom-painted Pivot Bike (mimicking the design of The Shop Beer Co.’s famous “Church Music” brew); local fare from Bacanora, Bad Jimmy’s and Il Bosco Pizza; and live music from local bands – all benefiting Armer Foundation for Kids and the local families, like Gidley’s, whom they support.

“What The Shop Beer Co. and Pivot Cycles are doing to help us raise awareness and funds to help families like Logan’s is incredible,” Jennifer Armer, founder of The Armer Foundation for Kids, said in a written statement. “Our mission is to financially support families whose children are facing life-altering diagnoses, and this could help us double the number of children we support.”

The Shop Beer Co.’s limited-edition beer, made in collaboration with Missouri-based Boulevard Brewing, is a Double Hazy IPA, called “Good Good”, which will be released at the Good Fest on May 13 and sold for $18 per four-pack. Artist to the stars, J. Pierce designed the one-of-a-kind can incorporating some of Gidley’s favorite things, including cycling, music and gaming.

“We personally know many of the families the Armer Foundation has supported over the years and want to do our part in giving back to help even more of our community members whose children are facing life-threatening illnesses, like Logan,” Mikel Anne Arnce, co-founder of The Shop Beer Co said in a written statement.

Partnering with the AZ-based cyclists and forward-thinking innovators at Pivot Cycles, there will also be a raffle of a custom-painted bicycle, valued at $3,000, which mimics the design of The Shop Beer Co’s famous “Church Music” IPA.

“Logan loved hitting the trails and enjoying the sunshine and it really inspired us to not only give back a bike but also continue Logan’s legacy with an #iridewithLogan challenge,” Rachel When, Athlete Coordinator for Pivot Cycles, said in a written statement. Beginning May 1st, Pivot is challenging riders of all ages to ride 13 hours by The Good Fest on May 13th in honor of Gidley. Join the Pivot Cycles Strava group, log each ride on Strava, then show the Pivot Crew your Strava account at Good Fest to receive some swag.

Tickets to The Good Fest, held at The Shop Beer Co. (located at 922 W First St. Tempe, AZ 85281) on May 13 from 3 – 8 p.m., are $10/person in advance or $15/person at the door, and complimentary for children – who will be able to enjoy games like giant jenga, cornhole, and a putting green.
