A staple in Paradise Valley’s history has passed on, but the legacy Peter Wainwright instilled within the local police force and beyond will continue.
Peter Stuyvesant Wainwright was born in 1925 in New York City. After serving in World War II as a young man, his life led him to Paradise Valley, where he raised his family and became an influential man within the town.
Mr. Wainwright was the town’s first chief of police and served two terms on the Town Council: April 1974 to November 1981 and April 1992 to April 1994.
