After spending a decade working in the Scottsdale Mayor’s Office, Rachel Smetana is embarking on a new challenge.
From doing a job that was all over the board — meeting with stakeholders, doing research on city history, going to fancy events — to having a more focused task, Smetana is excited for the change.
The mother of two is in her first weeks as human services manager of Vista del Camino Community Center, which provides a food bank, career center, utility, mortgage and rent assistance, and more.
