Coyotes future in the Valley up for grabs as Tempe grapples with new development proposals

After Tempe voters rejected the Tempe Entertainment District featuring an arena for the Arizona Coyotes, the city is back at square one in developing one of its last viable plots of land.

And the National Hockey League franchise may be faced with going even further back.

Early voting counts published by the Maricopa County Elections Department at 7:59 p.m. on May 16 showed an overwhelming turnout of Tempe residents against the district, with roughly 56% of those casting ballots voting against the three propositions.
