The fast-casual concept is celebrating with a fundraising event benefitting the Virginia G. Piper Branch of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale. From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 10 percent of sales all day long will be donated to the organization.
Then, on Friday, Dec. 15, guests have the opportunity to win a variety of prizes with any purchase. Once they make their purchase, diners can draw a prize card. Prizes include free gyros for a year for 20 guests, free feta fries and buy one, get one gyros. Also on this day, the first 20 guests to sign up for The Great Greek loyalty rewards program will receive a free t-shirt.
“Owning a fast-casual restaurant like my grandmother’s has been my dream, and I’m thrilled to make this the place where it comes true,” said Lar Lazola, franchise owner of the Scottsdale location. “I can’t wait for the Scottsdale community to discover our menu and its unique combination of healthy, delicious food.”
Lazola is a self-made female entrepreneur who was born in the Philippines and raised in New Zealand. She previously owned a gaming company there and currently owns rental estates in Nevada, in addition to helming the Scottsdale location of The Great Greek.
For Lazola, The Great Greek serves as a tribute to her grandmother, who established several fast-casual restaurants and continues to serve as Lazola’s role model of entrepreneurship. Lazola plans to expand the brand with additional locations in the future.
