Gallego to JROTC: military ethos is a blueprint for success

U.S. Sen. Ruben Gallego, a combat veteran and former Marine, delivered a message on leadership, integrity and the enduring value of military-style discipline to students in the Marine Corps JROTC program at Tolleson Union High School.

Gallego told teens the training they receive is a rare and invaluable opportunity, one he wished he had as a young man.

"This is an amazing program. I actually wish I had a part in this growing up," Gallego said. "I didn't grow up with the best situations... We did not have options like this, like a JROTC program.  I think I would have been a very different person (having) that discipline, (having) the role models that you have so young."
