For $5 (kids 12 and under are free), visitors can explore Taliesin West at their own pace while enjoying hands-on activities, engaging performances, family-friendly crafts and interactive demonstrations, according to a press release.
Highlights include:
• Film Screenings: Take a seat in the Cabaret Theater for Bears in Hot Tubs, a moving short documentary that reveals how black bears adapt to suburban life and asks us to rethink our connection with the wild creatures in our midst.
• Live Music: Enjoy the sounds of The Sunpunchers band and singer-songwriter AJ Odneal, performing against the dramatic desert backdrop from the Prow and Sunset Terrace.
• Arts and Crafts: Become part of the art by coloring a piece of a giant saguaro mural, then watch it transform into a collaborative masterpiece — or create your own faux stained-glass design to bring Wright-inspired beauty home.
• Hands-On Activities: Pick up a site-wide search-and-find worksheet and uncover Taliesin West’s hidden details, then collect a prize at the store. Young architects can test their skills with bridge-building and fort construction on the Pavilion Terrace.
• Interactive Stations: In the Garden Room, explore a special zine with the preservationists who safeguard Wright’s legacy, ask big questions at the “Ask Me” station in the Drafting Studio and learn all about Arizona wildlife at the Garden Squares.
• Educational Exhibits: Step into the archives to see dance and drama costumes of the Taliesin Fellowship, then witness artisans from Mountain Sculptures transform raw desert rock into breathtaking works of art.
• Food and Beverages: Refuel with gourmet sandwiches, campfire-style s’mores and refreshing Italian ice from Lulu’s, available for purchase throughout the day.
