The No. 9 Oklahoma State Cowboys looked dead in the water early but came stampeding back for the biggest comeback in Fiesta Bowl history, beating No. 5 Notre Dame 37-35 Saturday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale.
Notre Dame led 28-7 late in the first half, but Oklahoma State stormed back with 30 unanswered points. The Fighting Irish finally scored again with a minute left but it was too little too late.
Both teams missed the College Football Playoff by a hair, but Oklahoma State Coach Mike Gundy still called this game “clearly the biggest win in the history of the school.” It was also the largest comeback in school history.
