The affordability case for Congress to expand HSAs

OPINION — It is no secret that millions of Americans are feeling the pinch of higher costs and are searching for more affordable solutions in every area of their lives. A recent survey reveals that the vast majority of Americans are extremely worried about the rising cost of healthcare.

Congress is debating a spending bill — called “reconciliation” — in which members will look to address affordability.

Congress can listen to constituents and give Americans a tax break by expanding the availability and versatility of tax-advantaged Health Savings Accounts.
