Thanksgiving turkeys needed most at local food banks

Inflation increasing food, clothing needs

With Thanksgiving around the corner, there are a few food banks in Paradise Valley in need of frozen turkeys and holiday food items in addition to regular donations.

The need for food and clothing has gone up this year as inflation has increased the cost of food, gas and rent.

Harvest Compassion Center, 4744 E. Thunderbird Road, and Paradise Valley Community Food Bank, 10862 N. 32nd Street, have both seen a year-over-year increase in new people who haven’t used a food bank before. And the need is more so during the holidays.
