Co-chairs Vicki Vaughn and Bijen Dyrek set the stage for a morning of mingling, mimosas, the fashion show and luxury raffle, which included Arunashi diamond earings and a gold and diamond butterfly necklace.
TGen President and Research Director Jeffrey Trent welcomed the audience and spoke about what is at the heart of the women’s cancer research program — precision medicine, which is treatment based on each patient’s unique genetic makeup.
Tim Braun, vice president and general manager of Neiman Marcus, thanked Kitty Broderick of Neiman Marcus for 31 years of service to the philanthropic community. Committee members were recognized and thanked for planning this event and generously giving their time and energy to help make a difference in the lives of many.
The event raised over $212,000 to help provide the critical funding needed for TGen to address women’s cancer research both locally and globally.
Nearly 307,000 American women this year will be told they have breast or ovarian cancer, a press release stated.
According to the release, physicians are relying on Tgen to help provide new methods of early detection, diagnose cancer at its earlier stages when treatment can be most effective, and provide new targeted drug treatments with fewer side effects. Precision medicine is the heart of TGen’s women’s cancer research platform.
