‘Text Neck’ could be more harmful than consumers realize

Stop reading right now and evaluate your posture in this moment — are you hunched over a screen? Shoulders and back curved forward? Head drooping down?

The poor posture stemming from a condition experts call “text neck” could be doing more harm than giving people sore necks.

Text neck is a syndrome caused by the strain on the neck from looking down at a hand-held mobile device. Instead of having your neck extended, it is held in flexion, or rather, bent. The impacts of the hunched over posture can be numerous including pain or disrupting internal functions, like limiting oxygen intake. The less oxygen our bodies get, the less brain function we have.
