Tennis tournament raises money for charity
Swing Into Spring 2023

After taking three years off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Sun City West Tennis Club put on the Swing Into Spring 2023 Senior Tennis Charity Tournament, benefiting Sun City West Posse and Sun City West PRIDES.
A total of 134 players participated in this year’s event. With heavy rains falling the night before and morning of, volunteer ground crews dried the courts and prepared them for play with only a few hours delay.
Contributions via the raffle and donations raised $8,400, which will be divided and presented to groups during the April Sun City West Tennis Club members meeting.

Ladies doubles — 3.0 champions Sue Surette and Patty Morris, group B; finalists Ginny Althoff and Dana Day, group A; 3.5 champions Sue Earp and Gail Selander; 3.5-F1 champions Tanya Romero and Melissa Dell’Erario; 4.0 champions Susan Nachtigall and Karen Snow, group B; finalists Christy Grisham and Susan Lewis, group A.
Men’s doubles — 3.0 champions David Martinez and Douglas Haro; 3.5 champions Mark Johnson and Ron Wambach, group B; finalists Pete Kosky and Gary Jenkins, group A; 3.5-F1 champions Dan Bisanti and Doug Askam; 4.0 champions Glenn Holly and Carlos Romero.
Mixed doubles — 3.0 champions Annie and John Nguyen, group A; finalists Rosanne and Bruce Pazarena, group B; 3.5 champions Christina Harrison and John Fabela, group A; champions Babette Montgomery and Mark Johnson, group B; 4.0 champions Kathy Krezel and George Orchard.
