Tenants still a mystery in two new Queen Creek retail centers being built

Excitement is high in Queen Creek over the recent announcement that two new shopping centers will open in the town. However, residents will have to wait about a month before they find out which stores are going to be in the centers.

After a 13-year construction hiatus, Vestar, the largest privately held shopping center owner and manager in the western United States, has announced it is building three new retail centers in Queen Creek and Peoria.

The centers — Queen Creek Crossing and Vineyard Towne Center in Queen Creek and The Shops at Lake Pleasant in Peoria — total more than 650,000 square feet of retail space at a combined development cost of nearly $90 million. Construction is set to begin in late 2021 through early 2022.
