Tempe’s Quantum Leap Productions premieres ‘Weight of a Feather’

Wildlife synchronicity in the city and feather repository

“When it comes to wildlife, we think, ‘They’re up in the forest and deserts and rivers and lakes far away from us.’ But really, there’s a lot of wildlife that’s living amongst us within our cities,” Kenneth "Tuk" Jacobson narrated.

That is the opening statement of the documentary, “Weight of a Feather,” produced by Tempe-based, Emmy Award-winning Quantum Leap Productions about Liberty Wildlife and its Non-Eagle Feather Repository.

The documentary tells the story of how the conservancy not only supports and rehabilitates animals, but also how it supports people and environmental balance in the Valley through education, training and partnerships. In addition, the conservancy provides feathers for Native American cultural and religious practices, which have not been considered in wildlife laws protecting birds.
