Time to celebrate: Tempe offers St. Patrick's Day deals

Tempe is named after a city in Greece, but on Friday the community will be touched by the Irish with events at bars, restaurants, a spring training game and a movie on the green turf of Sun Devil Stadium.

Here is the latest list of things to do on St. Patrick’s Day provided by Tempe Tourism. For more details on these happenings and updates, vist: www.tempetourism.com.

Casey Moore’s Oyster House, 850 S. Ash Ave. 480-968-9935. Oysters, fish and chips, drinks and more presented in a longtime Tempe establishment with an Irish pub feel.

Drink Me! Tea Room, 1730 E. Warner Road, Suite 5. 602-206-5469. Drink Me! Tea Room celebrates Ireland and Irish culture with afternoon tea service through Sunday. The menu will include a combination of savory and sweet items that reflect Irish cuisine. Special-tea cocktails and mocktails will be served.

Tempe St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl, Friday and Saturday. Downtown Tempe is the location for the crawl that includes discount drinks at a variety of venues. Visit the 2023 Pub Crawl event website for St. Patrick’s Day specials.

2023 Pub Crawl includes:

  • 10-plus participating bars
  • Exclusive drink specials at each venue

Skysill Rooftop and Lounge, 11 E. 7th St., 480-968-8885. The rooftop and lounge at The Westin Tempe will have a DJ and drink specials from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.

Painting with a Twist, 219 E. Baseline Road, 602-758-7928. Tap into your creative side by painting your choice of several St. Patrick’s Day-themed canvases. All supplies are provided, and visitors are welcome to bring their own beer and wine. 

Yucca Tap Room, 29 W. Southern Ave., 480-967-4777. Yucca Tap Room has showcased life music for more than 40 years and Friday it will feature Liar’s Handshake.

Class Axe Throwing, 1625 W. University Drive, 480-676-3386. Trained “axeperts” demonstrate how to throw. A promo code – CLOVER – takes 25% off reservations.

Angels spring training game. 2200 W. Alameda Drive, 480-350-5265. St. Patrick’s Day-themed spring training game at Diablo Stadium against the Kansas City Royals.

Movies on the Field, Sun Devil Stadium, 500 E. Veterans Way, 480-965-3434. CODA will be presented on the big screen. Bring a blanket and enjoy from the turf.

Hundred Mile Brewing Company, 690 N. Scottsdale Road. 480-256-1623. Green beer, Irish coffees, Irish Mules and Irish Lucky Day drink specials. Try the Sage Derby Cheese Paddy Melt.

Tempe Marketplace St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations, 2000 E. Rio Salado Parkway, 480-966-9338. Visit The Thirsty Lion Gastropub & Grill for a St. Patrick’s Day menu. Pair a Reuben or Irish Whiskey Salmon with an Irish Mule that help’s the Thirsty Lion’s mission of helping the St. Baldrick Foundation.
