Ella Meaker, a junior at Tempe Preparatory Academy, has been awarded the U.S. Congressional Award Silver Medal for her commitment to volunteer service, personal development, physical fitness, and exploration. The award recognizes youth who set and achieve challenging goals in these four key areas, and Ella's achievements over the past year clearly reflect the values of leadership, community involvement, and personal growth.
With over 200 hours of volunteer service, Ella dedicated 86 hours to the East Kyrene Service Unit, where she took an active leadership role in planning and hosting events such as encampments and service projects for younger Girl Scouts. By helping to organize these events, she improved her leadership and public speaking skills, while making a positive impact on her local Girl Scout community.
"I enjoyed creating fun and engaging activities for all the different age groups, and it helped me grow more confident as a leader," Ella commented.
