Supply chain issues delay Tempe Streetcar

Manufacturer feels effects of COVID-19 pandemic

The Tempe Streetcar project has been in the city’s sights for close to a decade, but Tempe will have to wait a little longer for that dream to come to fruition.

The project, previously slated to open by the end of 2021, has been delayed until spring of 2022, though no firm date has been announced. According to Hillary Foose, Valley Metro’s director of communications and strategic initiatives, the Brookville, Pennsylvania-based company has been hit hard by the pandemic.
