Tempe shooting leaves 1 man dead, another in critical condition

Posted

One man is dead and another was in critical condition following a shooting Wednesday night in Tempe, police said.

The shooting occurred at about 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, in the 4500 block of South College Avenue. When officers arrived, they found two people on the ground with apparent gunshot wounds.

Police said the pair “were believed to have an unknown dispute before multiple shots were fired.”

After rendering aid, police said the men were taken to a hospital where one was pronounced dead and the other was in surgery in critical condition.

Police said they believe the incident involved only the two men. An investigation is continuing.
