Tempe high school graduates and community members who have committed to serve in the United States military will be honored next week.
The ninth annual Tempe Community Salutes takes place 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 2, at the Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the public is invited.
A special ceremony will honor future military members of the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps and Arizona Army National Guard.
U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego, a veteran of the Iraq War, will speak at the ceremony.
There will be entertainment, and vintage military vehicles will be on display, according to a release.
