Wednesday, Jan. 13 marks the first day a public safety task force, led by Tempe Mayor Corey D. Woods, began deliberations around drafting the strategic plan to improve relations between municipal police and the community.
The mayor gathered a panel in October of over 20 different community leaders, Tempe Police Department representatives and city officials --- known as the Public Safety Advisory Task Force --- to discuss the different concerns regarding how policing is conducted in the city.
The meeting began with a short welcome from Mr. Woods.
