A Zoom online meeting will take place 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, where participants will learn about upcoming bike and pedestrian improvements along Country Club Way in Tempe.
The project stretches from the U.S. 60 on the north to Warner Road on the south, roughly following Country Club Way, according to a city release.
“It will connect to several regional multi-use paths, bicycle pedestrian corridors, schools, parks, as well as one of Tempe’s largest employment hubs, ASU Research Park and Discovery Center,” the release stated.
Construction will begin on the south end.
When completed, officials said, the area will have a 10-foot-wide concrete path and equestrian trail (between Warner and Elliot roads), landscaping, lighting, public art, a shade node north of Citation Lane and a pedestrian-activated traffic signal at Warner Road.
North of Elliot Road, improvements will include new directional ramps, buffered bike lanes, shared-lane markings and high-visibility crosswalks.
The improvements will not affect on-street parking in front of homes, trash collection, or reduce the number of travel lanes, according to the city.
