Tempe legislator urges yes vote on Prop 409

Posted

When people get sick, they should have a place to turn regardless of how much money they make or what type of job they have.

Valleywise Health is Maricopa County’s only safety-net system for thousands of families in need. But as the Valley grows rapidly, this system has become severely strained. This November, we have an opportunity to ease the pressure by voting YES on Proposition 409, a bond initiative that will invest in the expansion of Valleywise Health.

The improvements will include expanding pediatric and primary care, building a new behavioral health hospital, growing emergency services and enhancing training programs for new doctors and nurses.

At a time when access to health care is uncertain for many people, we must step up as a community to make sure our neighbors who are most vulnerable have options when they are sick, injured or in a mental health crisis.

Please join me in voting yes on Prop 409.
